excellent workmanship. congrats. some of the hand works are unnecessary. they are a physical strain and in long run will certainly affect fingers wrist and shoulder which cannot be cured. so the hand made designs may be withdrawn and machines may be involved. health is very important than the manual flower designs. God bless all the strainers

Happy to see that my near by village craftsmanship is shown to the world and people praising it. Brass is iron boxes maintain more heat than normal Ferrous Iron boxes. Hence the clothes washing people prefer them. It will be very strong with more than 15 kgs weight. The heat and weight will clear any kind of folds or wrinkles on the cloth. In India it is very common to use these. They come in a cart and collect your clothes from home, press and give it back to you. They charge may be 10 rs per cloth or even less. In cities or hotels they charge minimum 1 USD per cloth (80 INR). Char coal and some fresh wood pieces are used to lit the fire inside this box to generate heat.

Before looking at the description, I got a village name in Andhra Pradesh 'Ajram'. This village used to prepare Brass Jar (ittadi binde) which people used to store water. It is a very old industry there. Everything used to be manual when Iam a child. Now I saw some machineries. Still very hard work, requires patience and dedication. Thank you for sharing this story
